About Me
I am a second year PhD student at Loughborough University based in the UK. My PhD research topic is 'Computationally Efficient Embedded Classification Algorithms for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)'. I work on researching efficient AI solutions for assistive technologies that help individuals who are speech disabled. Partnering with me is the Ace Centre , a charity that deals with assistive technologies and AAC.
I hold a master's degree (with distinction) in Data Science awarded at Loughborough University, as well as a bachelor's degree (first class honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. My passion lies in working with artificial intelligence to make a positive impact in society.
Publications
Computationally Efficient Breath Pattern Recognition for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (Under Review)
This journal paper describes a computationally efficient AI platform for recognizing breath patterns, specifically for AAC. It replaces current nearest neighbour techniques which are slower. It has been submitted to the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics and is currently under review.
Identifying Tiger Stripes With Machine Learning
This report addresses the challenge of creating a user-friendly tool for recognizing individual tigers based on their stripe patterns and utilizing this information to enhance enforcement efforts and combat the illegal trade of tiger skins, carcasses, and live animals. It was published as the output of a Data Study Group organized by The Alan Turing Institute, the UK's national institute for data science and AI.
Quality Assuring a Ring Vortex Flow Phantom in Real-Time
This journal paper highlights the output of my summer internship at Insigneo Institute for in-silico Medicine where I developed an instrumentation pack for a ring vortex flow phantom. The paper was submitted at the Open Journal of Medical Imaging : DOI:10.4236/ojmi.2023.131002. My poster submission for this internship can be accessed here.
